Lilo Kahlua

I often get requests to do a sketch as a tribute for pets who have passed. These sketches are always special to me because of the impact associated with the loss of a loved one.

I didn't know Lilo Kahlua personally, but many of you may have known this special little girl. She has her own Instagram, Facebook and many videos on YouTube showcasing how much she loved to make people smile. I consider it an honor to have been asked to sketch such an incredible girl who will be so missed by all who knew her.

Doodle Mug

What's better than a personalized gift that only costs a couple of dollars?! Not a whole lot! One Pinterest project that has been on my list for quite some time has been doodle mugs. Just plain white coffee mugs with doodles. They are perfect for adding a little bit of fun to your morning cup of joe. So what do you need? Simple...

A plain white ceramic coffee mug, a sharpie and some imagination!

Doodle on the mug. Then bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Then cool. Easy as that!

Mine, was for a thank you gift. So I wrote "thank you," in as many different ways as I could think of. Trying to use all different fonts as I went along. I just filled with candy, added a bow and it was a huge hit! A great simple way to say thanks!

It would also be a great gift for those coffee lovers in your life. What coffee fanatic doesn't need a new mug?! Just make it your own and the lucky recipient will LOVE it! Add a fun mustache, a funny saying or a sweet love note.

52 reasons we love you

This has been one of my favorite and most personal projects I have done so far. I wanted to give my mom a little just because gift. She does so much for me and our family and I just wanted her to know that what she does is appreciated. So I collaborated with my sister for half of the project. We each came up with 26 reasons why we love her and combined them in a card book. Each of the cards expressed a reason we love her. There were so many to choose from, that picking just 52 collectively wasn't a hard task at all! It turned out so cute that I just had to share!

The PAWSitively Precious Seven

Keeping track of multiples is no easy task, especially when they are all running around on four legs! These precious little things were such a delight to draw, even though I had a tough time keeping them straight. I felt like I was drawing the same dog over and over again, but when you lay them all out next to one another, each of their personalities come to life! Such a fun project!

I'm Obsessed!

Ever since I experienced with making my Antiqued Mirror Glass, I've become addicted! I have been trying to get my hands on anything glass. My latest experiment you ask? This beautiful accessory mirror for my bathroom. A girl always has to know how her hair looks from the back, and now I have a beautiful mirror to do so. They are so fun to make, I just can't stop!

From Jeans to Daisy Dukes

Living this summer on a budget has been no easy task, but it has steered me to working more with what I have instead of buying new. Next up on my summer project list: Daisy Dukes! This has been one of my favorite projects so far! You know me, I can never have anything looking new and perfect so these shorts were a definite win!

I had a load of old jeans in the trunk of the car just waiting for the second hand store. I was going to trade them in for cash so I could go buy some new jean shorts for the blistering heat. Then it hit me, why spend time, gas, and money on trading in and buying new, when I can make my own instead!

I started by cutting off at a safe place (they could always be trimmed shorter), and then I went to work. With just some scissors and bleach, I made my new favorite pair of Daisy Dukes! =) I had originally planned on a cuffed bottom but opted for the ragged edge (of course). So they ended up shorter, and messier, and perfect!

I would have paid big bucks for those sassy things!
