Ever since I experienced with making my Antiqued Mirror Glass, I've become addicted! I have been trying to get my hands on anything glass. My latest experiment you ask? This beautiful accessory mirror for my bathroom. A girl always has to know how her hair looks from the back, and now I have a beautiful mirror to do so. They are so fun to make, I just can't stop!
Living this summer on a budget has been no easy task, but it has steered me to working more with what I have instead of buying new. Next up on my summer project list: Daisy Dukes! This has been one of my favorite projects so far! You know me, I can never have anything looking new and perfect so these shorts were a definite win!
I had a load of old jeans in the trunk of the car just waiting for the second hand store. I was going to trade them in for cash so I could go buy some new jean shorts for the blistering heat. Then it hit me, why spend time, gas, and money on trading in and buying new, when I can make my own instead!
I started by cutting off at a safe place (they could always be trimmed shorter), and then I went to work. With just some scissors and bleach, I made my new favorite pair of Daisy Dukes! =) I had originally planned on a cuffed bottom but opted for the ragged edge (of course). So they ended up shorter, and messier, and perfect!

I would have paid big bucks for those sassy things!
I'm all about anything vintage. The look of old, worn, torn, rusted or busted just gets my wheels a turnin'. My favorite color pallet of dark red, browns, and golds has transformed into a fairytale story of white, white and more white! What better accessory to white than old vintage glass?! The distressed look of these glass pieces are slowly brightening my deep dark dungeon into a bright fantasy world.
This project has literally taken me months to finish. It seems like it took me forever (because it did). It has been the biggest project that I have done. EVER! Besides being the biggest drawing I have finished, it was the biggest frustration, biggest motivation drainer, and the biggest reward as an artist. It has built up my confidence so much that I feel I can do ANYTHING! I had so many hesitations starting this project because I had never attempted a drawing of this size. After all the time and hard work it has finally paid off! I know Rosehill Yorkies is finally ready to have it!

This summer I am going to try and do all of the crafty things that have been piling up on my To Do list. First up, wood transfer! I have seen the idea done all over and wanted to give it a shot. I got the instructions from PetaPixel and it worked out great (after a few failed attempts).
I did this fun little project with my mom and we learned some helpful tips along the way:
1. Use a THICK layer of mat medium before laying your print down. 2. Allow it to fully dry (we waited over night to avoid the growing anticipation) 3. Rub Rub Rub! Keep rubbing until all of the paper has been removed
Each print we made turned out better than the one before. They are so much fun and make great gifts for friends and family. It was the perfect project to start off the summer! =)
